Wedding Advice During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The pandemic of 2020, COVID-19, has the wedding industry upside down and it is certain it will take years for a full recovery. But when it comes to your Wedding Day? It’s ridiculous to even think about years when you already had the entire event planned. However, how do you handle the stress of it all in the meantime? My best advice is be prepared, flexible and develop a back up plan.
Secondly, stay connected with your vendors and review the wedding plans you have in place. There are two things to keep in mind: Guest Safety and experiencing the most Amazing Day of your life. Maybe it is not so important to have 300 of your closest family and friends; maybe 50 to 75 guests; allowing for a more open venue and adequate social distancing.
Third, rules and regulations vary state to state (county to county) and if you are having a destination wedding the country may have developed its own guidance; ensure you become familiar with the requirements for the local area where you are hosting your event. Maybe hire a wedding planner from the local area to assist you with those details.
Fourth, Honestly, it’s OK to allow yourself to feel a certain way about the state of the world and how it affects your world. It’s OK to cry, be angry and feel disappointment. But once you allow yourself to go through those emotions, pick yourself up and remember what the day is truly about; you and your significant other becoming one. Then commence to planning, check-listing and preparing for an Amazing Union.
Fifth, if your event becomes like the rest of the world; chaotic, and it becomes necessary to reorganize, take a deep breath, pick a new venue, lessen the guest list, change the menu and order cupcakes; just do it. Do not let COVID-19 stop you from celebrating love you planned to share with family & friends. And if you find yourself in need of a custom look, we are here with a Gown & Garter waiting.
